Week 47 -- 3rd Area -- 5th Companion -- Hesperia, CA

April 27, 2015

This last week was a pretty good week.  We were able to teach a good amount of people.  We also went on exchanges and I stayed in our area.  I got to drive around that entire day, and it was awesome.  Driving naturally comes back to you.  I was super nervous about driving because it had been a little over 10 1/2 months.  But it was all good.  On the exchange we were able to teach someone that we had contacted a week earlier and she became a new investigator.  We were also able to teach our investigator Will.  He's doing super good, he has a really sincere desire to know if what we've taught him is true.  His only hold up is he doesn't know if Jesus Christ is the son of God.  But, he knows a ton about Jesus Christ.  Some of his stories aren't true, but, he knows a ton.  All we've told him to do is to pray and ask.  He didn't make it to church, so we pushed his baptismal date to May 16th.  We let him know why and he was good.  The lesson we pushed his baptismal date back he really opened up to us about his concerns about Jesus Christ.  At the end of the lesson he told us we need to meet TuesdayWednesdayThursday, and Friday and we need to read a lot from the Book of Mormon.  So, he showed a real sincere desire to learn if Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  We also invited him to a baptism that was happening later that day and he came to it.  He seemed to like it.  The only problem was it was a baptism for the Spanish Ward, so, it was all in Spanish.  So me, my companion, and Will were the only ones who didn't understand it.  But we think in the long run pushing the baptismal date back for Will is going to be a good thing.  We think that it will allow for him to make more friends and for him to really come to know for himself that the things we've taught him are true.

That was pretty much my week.  It was pretty chilly and windy this last week and we had a bunch of rain clouds.  We only got like ten minutes of rain for having rain clouds all week.  It was lame.

I love all of you!!!  Keep being awesome, like I know all of you are!

Love,

Elder Peter H. Niceler

P.S. We also had the opportunity to do a "Just Serve Helping Hands" service project.  It was really good.  As a stake we went and cleaned up some camping sites, painted a pavilion, and cleared some trails.  It was a really good service project.

A few pictures I took.  Here you go, love ya!!!!

Above is my companion, Elder Russell & below is me at the service project.
We had to scrape paint off the posts.
