Week 96 -- 6th Area -- 10th Companion -- Barstow, CA

April 18, 2016

This last week, was a slower week for us. We didn't teach very much. Our investigator Jordan is doing super good. He is totally ready for his baptismal date of April 30th. We went through the baptismal interview questions with him and he answered them all correct. The spirit was so strong in that lesson.

Sally is doing good.  The divorce will be final this upcoming Friday.  The following week she and her boyfriend will be married and then the week after that she'll be baptized.

Our family of seven are doing good. They are just really hard to get in with. We set up an appointment and then when we show up they end up being busy or can't do it for some reason. They've been a little frustrating just for that reason. The Mom is more open to it, she told us that she loves it.

That's pretty much it, we've just been doing a ton of finding. I think that the last two years of missionary work are finally catching up with me because, this last week and today I've been physically and mentally drained. It feels awesome, but it makes it hard to work.

I love all of you so much!

Week 95 -- 6th Area -- 10th Companion -- Barstow, CA

April 11, 2016

My one and only week 7 was pretty good. It had its ups and downs but overall it was really good. The work here in Barstow continues to hasten, it's truly amazing to witness this. I cannot believe that I've now started my last transfer in the mission. It's a sad and exciting moment for me.

The most promising person we are teaching is a guy named Jordan. We've been teaching him for about a month now and things are going really good. He loves having us over and just soaks up everything we teach him. He continues to express to us how he wants to be baptized. We have a date with him for April 23rd, but, we are thinking of moving it to the 30th just to give him a little bit more time to prepare.

The other investigator that is super solid that we are teaching is a woman named Sally. She just loves the gospel and wants to be baptized. We have a baptismal date with her for May 7th. She would already be baptized if it wasn't for the divorce papers that we are waiting on for her boyfriend Michael, everything with that will be final on the 22nd of this month.

Things are going really good here in Barstow. We also have a family of 7 kids that we are teaching that are doing really good, we don't have a date with them for their baptism just yet because we are waiting for the Dad to have Sunday's off again.

I love all of you so much!!

Week 94 -- 6th Area -- 10th Companion -- Barstow, CA

April 4, 2016

This will be the only week 7 email for a transfer ever!

This last week was very busy.  We have been seeing our family of eight kids everyday. They are doing super good. They love having us over and the kids go crazy when we pull up. They have an amazing desire to learn and follow the Savior.

Our investigator, Jordan, is also doing really good. He is just a sponge when it comes to learning the gospel, he just soaks up everything we teach and just has really good conversations with us.

General conference was amazing! A lot of things stuck out to me.  The biggest thing, though, was the importance of enduring to the end by developing the habits of scripture study and prayer, and all of the other small and simple things.

I'm going to be sending pictures. Most of them are from our P-Day activity to Calico, which is a tourist attraction. It's a ghost town. The coolest thing that they have there is a house that is on a 45 degree angle. So we are standing up straight, while standing at a 45 degree angle.

I love all of you so much!

P-Day Activity in Calico

We really are standing up straight!

These are of me sitting in a chair in the house at a 45 degree angle.

Week 93 -- 6th Area -- 10th Companion -- Barstow, CA

March 28, 2016

Well, this last week was pretty good for us. We taught a lot of people and we were able to see most of our investigators who are all doing really good.

The highlight of the week for us was finding a family of nine kids. This family is super awesome, the kids absolutely love us, the Dad is really interested, and the mom is coming around to it. We taught them twice and the kids just listen so intently and are always wanting to read. When we had the second lesson the kids had found a Book of Mormon app for their tablets that they were using. It was awesome to see their excitement for the gospel.

We've just been really focusing on our investigators and helping them to progress, since we've done that we've really seen a difference in our investigators.

It continues to become realer and realer that I really am going home. I can't believe that I'm going to be in my last transfer in two weeks. Also if you didn't know since this transfer is a 7 week transfer, I will be getting home on May 23rd, which is a week later than it was initially going to be, but I'm totally fine with that because I now get to serve a full two years. I love all of you so much!
