Week 91 -- 6th Area -- 10th Companion -- Barstow, CA

March 14, 2016

This last week was a good week! We were able to teach a ton of people and help them to draw closer to the Savior.   I've done so much teaching and missionary work here in Barstow that I feel like that I've been here, in Barstow, for 3 months not 3 weeks.

The week ended with the wonderful opportunity of having Elder David A. Bednar speak to us. It was an amazing meeting. He didn't lecture us, all he did was ask us questions and had us give responses and then he would expound on what we said. He then did a question and answer. It was so spiritually packed. The thing that I took from the meeting was that we must do all that we can to keep our light brightly lit. And that whenever it dims or goes out it is our fault for not doing what we need to. He was very blunt with us and told us that he hates when people say they don't have time. He told us that every single person on this earth has the same amount of time each day. He counseled us to give equal if not more time to the Lord as we do with all of the worldly things. He also said that "When you turn off the light in a room that of course you are going to bump into things." What he taught is so true, we need to make sure that we are doing all that we can to keep our light brightly lit.

Continue doing the things that you are doing and do more. We must never give up.

I love all of you so much!

Week 89 -- 6th Area -- 10th Companion -- Barstow, CA

March 2, 2016

Thank you for the pictures mom! I l absolutely loved them!

Things here in Barstow are awesome! We are teaching a ton of people, and it's pretty hard at keeping track of everyone. One of the highlights of the week was we taught this family that is super awesome! They have seven kids and most are under the age of ten. But, they are super prepared and they are looking to do what is right. We also have a couple, Camille and Everett that we are teaching that are super prepared as well. Everything that we teach them they do, they both quit smoking and agreed to be baptized on the 16th of April. We are teaching so many people it's hard to explain everything. To put it into perspective, we taught 7 member presents (seven lessons taught to an investigator with a member present), and 7 other lessons, as well as 5 Less Active lessons. We found 6 new investigators. We are teaching a ton! I love it so much, it's great having so much work to do.

Well, my companion's name is Elder Coombs, he's from Rifle, Colorado. He's been out for 10 months. He's a good hard working missionary that just wants to do what the Lord wants him to.

I'm gonna be sending you some pictures soon. I love you guys so much!
